Funding of up to £1.5m is available to further develop a bespoke Skills Access Hub in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The funding comes from the European Social Fund and forms part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme which aims to deliver economic regeneration for the region from 2014-2020.
The Skills Access Hub will be central to an Employer-Led Programme to develop the skills of the workforce. This programme, co-ordinated through the Skills Access Hub, will directly engage with employers to identify and address their skills needs. This approach to ‘business, careers and skills’ will enable local employers to be more involved in designing, delivering and enhancing skills for their workforce.
Support will be focused on micro, small and medium sized businesses, which form the majority of businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Key features of the project will be skills brokerage, apprenticeship development, an innovation fund, sustainability and communication.
