Approximately £1.5m is available through the Developing Leaders call which invites applications for projects that focus on upskilling the workforce and developing strong public and private sector leadership capabilities.  This will enable people to progress in their careers and, in turn, support economic growth.

Specifically, the call aims to create a Developing Leaders project that will target those who are in employment or have recently been made redundant, in both the public and private sectors.  The call aims to create opportunities for learning that meet the needs of the individual, but also contribute to the needs of the organisations they work for.

Location:  projects to cover the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership area.

Value:  Approximate call value £1,5000,000.  Minimum project size £50,000 of European Social Funding to any single project.

Match: Minimum 20% match funding is required

Completion date:  The project must be completed no later than 18 June 2021

Deliverables/outputs/results:  see the call specification for the detail and minimum levels required.

This call is looking for applications:

  • to develop collaborative and innovative solutions that will address the underlying key challenges of high household costs, low earnings, household income, employability, poverty and debt. These are underlying societal issues that have affected Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for a long period of time but each impacts on the ability of individuals to progress and therefore the economy to grow.
  • to undertake ‘active research’ to develop activities to tackle these challenges. Projects will need to outline processes for identifying social innovation opportunities and how these are best developed. The use of ‘experts by experience’ will be key in the solution definition.
