Summary
This project will create a bespoke, high quality, modern workspace for Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding Ltd, one of Cornwall’s leading specialist marine manufacturers. This will provide a solid platform for innovation and the long-term growth of the business.
Impact
As a direct result of the project, Cockwells aims to achieve the following core objectives by 2021:
- Create 1,300 sqm BREEAM Excellent, modern, accessible workspace
- Increase production
- Create 10 highly skilled full time equivalent jobs over the next 4 years
- Attract private sector investment
- Access new UK and international markets, increasing exports
- Enhance Cornwall’s competitive advantage in the marine sector
- Introduce Lean Processing to maximise efficiency of operation
