The Isles of Scilly Technical Assistance Team will use its expertise and development fund to engage and assist potential applicants and project delivery bodies from the islands’ public, private and VCSE sectors. These applicants will be the direct beneficiaries of the services provided by the team, which in turn will facilitate further priority level outputs as projects are delivered.

The project will work with applicants to ensure that proposals provide a good fit with the objectives and priorities of the Operational Programme, CIOS ESIF, the LEP and local priorities. This work will ensure no duplication of service provision. It will ensure the investments have taken consideration of the local context and have broad support from stakeholders regarding their delivery.

The team will aid applicants through the ERDF processes and procedures required to take the project from inception, funding application and on to completion including:

  • Funding related – development of applications, securing match funding, defrayal, cash flowing, outputs and results, state aid, revenue generating projects, publicity requirements, compliance with public procurement requirements, audit files, document retention and cross cutting themes.
  • Capital development – planning, building regulations, health & safety, cdm requirements, engagement of specialists in relation to design, costs, project management equalities and accessibility (CCT), sustainable development, accreditation, programming, contracting/procurement, project management and specific advice on factors that impact projects on the Isles of Scilly

The team will also act as a signpost service to other elements of the programme including business support provisions operating at a national and local level.
