Have you got extensive experience of engaging with the private sector and contributing to development of the employment and skills agendas (including European Social Funds)? Have you previously developed effective partnerships with public, private and voluntary bodies? If so, you could you be our next Senior Skills Officer. We are looking for someone with a substantial understanding of the economic and social conditions in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and the South West. An individual ready to take forward our development work and realise our ambition to increase the skills and employment performance across the economy, particularly in the areas identified in the Vision 2030 Strategy.

 

Working closely with the People and Prosperity Manager and under the strategic lead of the Employment and Skills Board, you will play a key role in ensuring that the employment and skills provision meets the current and future skills needs of employers, young people and adults, individual businesses and the wider economy of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Salary: £37,191 – £44,697 pro rata

This is a fixed term contract for 1 year working alongside the current postholder whilst they work on another project.  This may represent a suitable secondment opportunity for existing Cornwall Council employees.
