A combined total of £3 m is being made available through the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme to exploit the high growth potential of the Creative Industries, one of the fastest growing sectors in the region, and a recognised growth sector both in the UK and globally.

The funding is being made available through both the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).  The alignment of the two funding streams aims to provide a holistic approach to support businesses and individuals working within, or wishing to enter, the creative industries. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit linked proposals to both ERDF and ESF funds.

Councillor Julian German, member of the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) Board which is responsible for overseeing the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Programme, said: ‘Building on previous investments in infrastructure such as superfast broadband, this combined ERDF and ESF investment is crucial in achieving our ambition to grow the creative industries sector to provide high value jobs, promote learning and foster a strong sense of place. As with any potential growth sector, continued growth will only be sustained if the necessary skills and capacity are in place at the right time.’
