The Isles of Scilly Voucher Scheme is pleased to announce the successful approval of funding for its first projects.

Local business owner Claire Riley of Flares beauty salon has successfully received funding for equipment to grow her business.

“I have been looking for a way to diversify and grow my beauty salon business. Now, with the help of the Voucher Scheme, I have been able to purchase some new equipment which will allow me to offer a brand new treatment- I’m really looking forward to familiarising myself with the equipment over the winter and I hope to launch it in the early months of 2017”

Also receiving funding from the scheme is Andrew Walder of SC Salt, a St Martins based sea salt production company.

“SC Salt is delighted to have been successful in attaining funding through the Voucher Scheme. Streamlining our packing process with new equipment will help us meet increasing demand from discerning cooks who want to add a taste of Scilly’s crystal-clear waters to their creations.”

The Voucher Scheme team is now fully staffed and operational and consists of Amy Hiron, Project Manager, Kirsty Graham, Engagement Officer and Milena Fallows, Financial Assistant.

The team are based at the Porthmellon Enterprise Centre so however small or large your ideas please pop in at any time to find out how the Voucher Scheme could help your business grow.

The Voucher Scheme programme on the Isles of Scilly is a £1.36 million investment fund financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to provide match funded financial support to local businesses or start-ups enabling them to improve and grow their business.
